The Esplanade - Theatres By the Bay buildings (popularly known as 'the durian') in Singapore have been a compelling photographic subject since coming here to live last August. So far, I have managed not to create any images that I really like of them until this morning. Since I now have the Really Right Stuff L-bracket for the 5DMk2, I decided it was time that I used the tripod for my night lights photos. Using a tripod certainly makes you slow down and be more thoughtful about composition, as well as provide a greater certainty of creating truly sharp images.
The lights were turned off a few minutes after taking this photo (i.e., around 6:50 AM), so I didn't have many versions of this scene to choose from.
Now, I think I should try some HDR (high dynamic range) images with this camera!
