Another of the most interesting events that came to Singapore during our residence there was Cavalia—a large multi-media equestrian show held under a big tent.
The tent was setup in the open space next to the Marina Bay Sands Shoppes. My wife enjoyed observing the progress of assembling the tents over the several weeks leading up to the opening of the show in August 2014.
The degree of communication between horse and human was remarkable—it was amazing to see how much the trainers and riders trusted and respected the horses, and how relaxed, yet proud the horses were.
I had bought ‘horse lover’ tickets, which meant we were able to go to the stables after the performance–and no, not to clean them, but to walk around and take photos. The horses were more interested in munching hay than posing after their performances, and there were harsh shadows and bars on the stables that made framing difficult, but I selected one black & white version to post.
