I took a walk after sunrise over to the Marina Bay Sands casino complex here in Singapore, and walked across the Helix Bridge for the first time--a very impressive structure, as you see in the first image below. You can feel it gently flexing as you walk across. At the other side there is a white barrier blocking the way until June when more (all?) of the remaining construction should be done. For now, pedestrians must detour to the left, down to street level, to continue on in-between the casino and the hotel complexes.
The main lobby of the casino is now open, and you can walk through to the front. Inside you see that most of the shops are not yet open. Out front on the bayside, workers are placing the hardwood decking for the boardwalk which should make for many an enjoyable stroll when complete.
It is now possible to make a complete circle of Marina Bay on foot--a likely new early morning exercise routine for me.
